OH YEAH DUDE!@#
OLÉ, OLÉ, OLÉ, OLÉ!@#
Yeah, they did just another cover of the same Fans’ version. It was released as CD single in 1993 and included both THE WAVES and the Fans’ versions.
Now, if you’re looking for how the CD single is look like, Discogs is your stop. Just type “Waves, The (2) / Fans, The – We Are The Champ The Name Of The Game” in there and you’ll be there.
This is probably the most famous football song ever

I think the Japanese version by The Waves is the one I’m thinking of.
Thanks!
I took a Japanese language class in high school, and one of the other students brought this song in.. His CD had both this version and the other version, which must have been the version by The Waves.. Since The Waves made the Japanese version, I guess that’s why the other student brought it into class (even though the lyrics are not in Japanese). hehe

It think if that could be the Japanese version by THE WAVES?
Go to musico (dot) jp, type “WE ARE THE CHAMP” in the search field, click on the entry and when you’re there, click on the second loadspaker icon (above the WMA icon) to listen a sample.
Though I doubt it could be the one, but let it a try

The Zuger SV Damen version isn’t the one I’m thinking of – but I like that one too.
In the version I’m thinking of, the guy saying “The name of the game” has a more high-pitched voice.

Hmm… now I even more desperate to find the one version you talk about
Actually, I’m making a little research of these specific football songs, which are all based on the Belgian song “Anderlecht Champion” by Grand Jojo from 1985.
Anyway, I found another one. Just look for “Zuger SV Damen Ole,Ole,Ole We Are The Champions” in here and tell me if this IS the one
Thanks for the reply BTW.

Thanks for your reply.
I found the DJ Ostkurve Vs. Soccer DJ version on here, but that’s not the version I was thinking of. The other version is basically exactly like this version, except for the different person singing the “The name of the game” part.

Though it was almost half year now, I hope you’re don’t mind if I’ll ask if you mean the version of DJ Ostkurve Vs. Soccer DJ?
You can get it to listen in imeem, just type “Ole Ole Ole/The Name Of The Game” in the search field.

I am not sure does anyone have another version, this is the only one i had for a very long time, the other version i did not hear yet but i will try to find…

I seem to remember there being 2 versions of this song: This one, and another version with a younger-sounding guy singing the part saying “The name of the game”. However, this one is the only version I’ve found on the internet. Does anyone know if the other version is available somewhere?
